Two major roles of 4MSK action on melanin:
1. Inhibit melanin synthesis
In the study of whitening ingredients, a very important part of course is to analyze the actual production of melanin and the inhibition of tyrosinase. The result is that 4MSK can inhibit melanin production and tyrosinase activity in a certain concentration environment.
2, Accelerate melanin metabolism
In the research report of Shiseido, the differentiation expression of the three-dimensional cultured skin model of this plate was observed, mainly focusing on the level of "paphiophenin" in the granular layer. The results showed that ultraviolet irradiation of the skin model with 4MSK added significantly inhibited the UV-induced decline in the expression of paphiophenin. This observation indicates that in vitro experimental models, 4MSK has certain functional similarities with salicylic acid, which can promote smooth metabolism of melanin.
